I am a scientist turned artist, or an artist turned scientist – whichever seems right at the time.  Within my practice is an active element of Search and Discovery, attempting to create work that is itself a process that could possibly lead to answers. However, answers are rarely, if ever, distinctly found or presented. There is no end result, only a progression.

Art is an active and living element, a force I can direct but cannot control. I am an investigator of forms, a creator of bodies, an interpreter of all distinctly observable information. I am caught up in the impossible task of objectively observing subjective experiences and information, attempting to find comprehensive methods of modeling the human experience.  I am simultaneously acknowledging my inherent bias which limits my knowledge and actions while making honest attempts to observe my surroundings scientifically, quantitatively, and empirically.  All of these efforts are attempts at understanding my experiences in order to reclaim my own story. My work is a constant question, a search to figure out what’s really going on.
